Our Story
In October 2005, Bayway Diner was purchased, a beloved but rundown establishment with a rich history in Linden. Initially, the plan was to repurpose the property as a parking facility. However, when the local community learned of these intentions, they passionately shared their love for this cherished city landmark and convinced us to reconsider.
Inspired by the fond memories of classic diners—the vibrant red and chrome exteriors, counters adorned with fresh donuts and homemade pies, and the inviting aroma of brewing coffee and sizzling bacon—the decision was made to restore the Bayway Diner to its former glory. Just three months later, with a dedicated staff and a beautifully remodeled diner, we proudly opened our doors to the community.
Shortly after our grand reopening, we received a call from a producer at Food Network. They wanted to feature our diner in the pilot episode of their new show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. This incredible opportunity catapulted the Bayway Diner into the national spotlight, attracting food lovers from all corners of the country.
Now, nearly two decades later, we are thrilled to announce the grand reopening of the Bayway Diner in Elizabeth, New Jersey. We invite you to join us and experience the nostalgic charm and delicious comfort food that has made us a staple in the community. Come visit us and become a part of our story. We can't wait to welcome you!
